Becoming Love
_______________________
With eyes of faith I see—a Body, that can be
Connected, growing strong, where you—and I—belong.
As strengths, talents, and gifts align; offered humbly by God’s design.
No pride shall live in this place; no satisfaction in disgrace.
Something glorious can come. God’s Spirit, make us one!
Something wonderful, can you see? Word become flesh–Love inhabit me.
With a heavy heart, I say—we’ve not yet made our way.
Division still remains; differences act as chains
So I call out to you and me: Shall we settle for misery?
Lesser glory in this place? While God offers mighty grace?
Something glorious can come. God’s Spirit, make us one!
Something wonderful, can you feel? Word become flesh—Love become real.
With ears alert I hear—triumphant love appear;
God’s love lived one for another—as we—become; sister, brother
Where offenses can be viewed; and forgiveness is imbued
As we grow stronger—together; Emanuel—our tether.
Something glorious can come as God’s Spirit makes us one;
Something wonderful. Can you hear? Word become flesh; Love—appear.
